Local residents have contacted your Liberal Democrat team about the strange work that has taken place outside Chapel Lane shops. Mounds of earth have been built and large kerbs stones scattered. We are looking into why this has taken place. We understand it has been installed as part of a scheme by Hampshire county council. We are asking what further work is due to be done to finish the project and whether perhaps a wider discussuion with local residents should be sought to get views on what is needed and might look best for the area.
A big thank you to everyone who voted yesterday. Congratulations to Craig Card, newly elected Lib Dem councillor for St Mark's ward. The result is fantastic news for the people of North Camp, and doubles the number of Lib Dem councillors in Rushmoor.
Rushmoor council is asking for residents views on its Draft Green Infrastructure Strategy. Make sure your views are heard. Complete the survey by 24th March. Go to https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/RBCGREENINFRASTUCTURE
The MoD wishes to demolish the historic Minley Home Farm and build a concrete shelter on the site. The Save Minley Home Farm campaign is seeking to work with national heritage organisations, local residents associations and local and national media to stop demolition, get Minley Home Farm listed by Historic England and lead the discussion on how the site may be rebuilt and repurposed for the benefit of the wider community. To sign the petition go to:https://saveminleyhomefarm.dreamhosters.com/ To view last years ITV Meridan report go to https://www.itv.com/news/meridian/2021-07-23/campaigners-try-to-save-edwardian-farm-from-destruction and see the full story.
Work due to take place in the next couple of months includes vegetation clearance at Queen Elizabeth country park and work in the Ship lane area. For details visit https://www.slpproject.co.uk/
Carers are not just support for their loved ones—they are the glue holding our fragile social care system together. They deserve more than token acknowledgements or empty promises.
Liberal Democrats believe that everyone has the right to enjoy clean, safe water and unpolluted rivers, lakes, and coastlines. We are committed to ending the national sewage scandal and holding water companies accountable for their environmental impact.
Liberal Democrats have passed new policy to stand up for bereaved families and kinship carers, so more young people can grow up in a loving, stable home.
