Massive reduction to conservation area

Local residents are rightly concerned about the Conservation area review. In Empress ward the area called 'Farnborough Street' looks to be significantly reduced.

Your Lib Dem team have reviewed the information and there seems no reason to reduce this conservation area. It would remove important street scenes like a major part of Highgate Lane and Chingford Avenue. An area which links historical importance for Farnborough Hill to Farnborough Abbey. It will also remove land attached to Farnborough Hill - A huge green space with many trees therefore potentially reducing green space andwildlife habitats.

Empress campaigner Leola Card says "I have lived in Farnborough all my life and I am really concerned that this review could open up the area to potential future development and another loss of green space and trees. Whilst the review says specific buildings
have National Listed building status, if this review goes ahead what protections will there be for the surrounding land and properties to unsuitable development. I have submitted my view through the councils consultation last year. Make sure you have your say"
