Reminder Voter ID required to vote in May elections
Despite attempts by Liberal Democrats in both Houses of Parliament to make the list of ID types that can be used for voting inclusive of all ages and incomes, millions of people in the UK still do not have the "approved of" ID, and therefore will not be able to vote at a polling station this year. This then is an antidemocratic and thinly veiled attempt at voter suppression - deliberately targeting younger and poorer voters.
Knellwood Lib Dem Campaigner Mark says "I believe that no one should be prevented from voting and be disenfranchised just for being a younger voter or not being able to afford the "right sort" of ID. If you don't have a
passport or drivers licence, the simplest option is to apply for a postal vote or to vote in person a Voter Authority Certificate. For more info go to: https://preprod.rushmoor.gov.uk/your-council/elections-and-voting/voter-id/
