Local schools in crisis

Conservative cutbacks mean a poorer schooling for our children

We've all heard of schools forced to sack teachers or classroom assistants or charging parents for pencils and paper.
There's been a big increase in school age children so you'd expect school budgets to increase along with pupils numbers.
Theresa May's government says they've increased the overall education budget but every head teacher knows funding for each individual pupil has been cruelly slashed.
Conservatives tell half-truths and hope you won't realise it.
Aldershot's Conservative MP recently praised an 'extra' £1.3 billion for schools, but failed to mention that this assumed 'efficiencies' from elsewhere in the education budget.
While the Conservatives may give with one hand and take away with the other, the Liberal Democrats will reverse the cuts to education to ensure that no school loses money per pupil in cash terms.
