Your Liberal Democrat councillors at the Rushmoor Borough council meeting last night put forward an amendment to the motion calling for proper consultation with the residents of Rushmoor on the Labour Governments Devolution and Local Government reorganisation. The amendment added that Elections should only be postponed in exceptional circumstances.

The deputy prime minister said yesterday Local elections are postponed as they do not want to waste money on something that will not exist in the near future.

Cllr Craig Card says  "But, we do not know what kind of local government will be in its place yet. This means Hampshire County council will be running for the next 2-3 years without a mandate from the people."
