Local Elections 2023
We would like to say a big thank you to everyone who voted Liberal Democrat in the recent Rushmoor Local Elections. We congratulate Thomas Mitchell for being re-elected to the St Marks Ward and thank all our candidates for their hard work. Whilst the results in Rushmoor did not match those of our neighbours like Surrey Heath who gained control of the council we appreciate all of those residents that supported our campaign and our concerns for the borough of Rushmoor. We will keep campaigning for all.
Across the country this has been an historic victory for the Liberal Democrats with our best result in decades.
It's little wonder Rishi Sunak is running scared of a General Election, because he knows the Liberal Democrats are set to take swathes of seats across the Conservative Party's former heartlands.
The message from these elections is clear: people are fed up with being let down and taken for granted by this Conservative Government - it is time for a change.
20% of the vote
The BBC's projected national vote share put the Liberal Democrats on 20%. This is the best result since 2010 and just 6% behind the Conservatives.
