Liberal Democrats ready to win here in Aldershot constituency
After three long years of talking about Brexit, the British people will have a chance on Thursday 12th December to have our say on the future of our country.
Local campaigner Alan Hilliar will be standing for the Liberal Democrats Parliamentary Candidate and is ready to win here in the Aldershot constituency
The Lib Dems look set to win lots more seats up and down Britain. Over the past year they have won hundreds of Council seats and soared in the opinion polls while Labour and the Conservatives crashed down to less than 10% of the vote in the recent European Elections.
Alan Hilliar and the Lib Dems have set four key aims for the General Election here:
- STOP Brexit
- SAVE our planet
- STOP the Tory cuts
- SAVE our town centres
Alan, who lives in Cranmore Close in Aldershot with his wife Carolyn and their border collie, Rosie, said, "I'm delighted that the election has finally been called. I'm looking forward to meeting lots of local people in the next few weeks."
"The Lib Dems will be making the case that Britain is better off in the EU and we want to stop Brexit. We will create a tolerant, inclusive country, recovering our place in the world and building respect not divisions.
"Saving our planet will also be at the heart of my campaign. The Lib Dems have set out a radical agenda to tackle the climate emergency - we're determined to become carbon neutral by 2045.
"If you elect me as your Member of Parliament, I'll fight to get the very best for people in Aldershot, Farnborough and the other communities in this constituency. That means putting a stop to Tory cuts. No more of their 'pay more, get less'. Public services have been slashed while Council Tax has soared.
"I want to see real change to save Aldershot and Farnborough town centres. No more extravagant plans and empty words. We need sustainable shopping centres with real heart and character and more space for art and music.
"Along with the rest of the local Liberal Democrat team, I look forward to talking to lots of you over the coming weeks - and to winning on Thursday 12th December."
