Farnborough Civic Quarter

Following the Conservative run Rushmoor Council's decision to close Farnborough Leisure Centre before a new leisure centre has been built Liberal Democrats are concerned about the future of the heart of Farnborough.

Farnborugh Civic Quarter

Alongside the former Leisure Centre is Farnborough Library and the site of the Community centre which has now been demolished -again without any alternative being offered. Leola Card Empress campaigner says 'I remember many years ago being able to sit in this green space on my lunch break as I worked in town at the time and it was a really great community space with all the facilities nearby. What we need is a community based civic quarter adjacent to our town centre that is accessible by public transport and local cycle routes. We need a good green space where people of all ages can meet outside and we need a modern Leisure Centre and community spaces for vital local interest groups to meet that support our health and well being.' if you have not signed our petition to save Farnborough Leisure Centre yet please go to rushmoor.lib.dem/SaveFLC
