Change to school dinner service
Hampshire County Council is set to cut its school dinner service in a cost saving measure. Schools and nurseries are being asked to make other arrangements by either bringing in private caterers, or they can buy into a managed service where the council will outsource the meals.
New private providers are expected to provide less choice for students and a lower nutritional quality just to make a small saving. This decision will be made after a short consultation.
Despite the cost of school meals rising for parent in the last few years, yet another cost will surely be forced on them.
