Alan Hilliar backs Lib Dem plan for £50bn 'remain bonus'
Alan Hilliar, Lib Dem candidate for Aldershot, has today backed Jo Swinson's plan for a £50 billion remain bonus to be used to improve public services and reduce inequality.
The huge sum would be available for public services over the next five years because the economy would be 1.9% bigger under Lib Dem plans to stop Brexit and stay in the EU, compared to Boris Johnson's flawed Brexit deal.
Alan said, "Locally and nationally people are fed up with Tory cuts. Crime has soared under the Conservatives, our schools, health service and social care are struggling, and Conservative-run Hampshire County Council is asking local people to pick up the cost of its estimated £80m black hole.
"Stopping Brexit will give business the certainty it needs to invest in the UK and create jobs - creating a £50 billion 'remain bonus' over the next five years.
"While the Conservatives are making a mess of Brexit and Labour's position remains confused, we are clear that Britain is better off in the EU. That's why we're campaigning to stop Brexit and to use the £50 billion remain bonus to end the Tory cuts that people locally and nationally have had to suffer for far too long."
