Alan Hilliar - a local campaigner for Aldershot and Farnborough
Alan Hilliar, Lib Dem candidate for Aldershot in the General Election, is a local campaigner who is fighting to get the best for Aldershot and Farnborough.
Alan lives in Aldershot with his wife Carolyn and their border collie Rosie. They're both active in the Church of the Ascension in Ayling Hill and sing with the Voices Together Community Choir. Their four growing grandchildren bring them loads of joy.
Alan has worked as a technology change consultant, helping HR departments get more from their systems, and now volunteers with local charities for young people and for the homeless and addicts.
Recently retired, he's now focusing his "working" time on local community projects including community development and community enterprise, and support for young people, for the countryside and environment and for local churches.
He relaxes with solo singing, performing in local concerts and musicals, cycling and walking in the local countryside.
Alan has set out four priorities for the General Election:
- STOP Brexit
- SAVE our planet
- STOP Tory cuts
- SAVE our town centres
Alan said, "Aldershot and Farnborough are great places to live but together we can make them even better. We need to protect our local environment and revitalize our town centres, instead of leaving our schools, hospitals and roads to suffer from years more Tory cuts."
