End Rushmoor’s recycling shame

By Alan Hilliar in Focus on North Camp & St Mark's

Conservative-run Rushmoor Council recycles just 26% of our household waste. The rest goes into landfill or incineration.

Lib Dems want to boost local recycling from waste.

Out of 350 local authorities, Rushmoor comes virtually at the bottom for recycling. Only 20 other authorities have a worse recycling record.

Neighbouring local authorities like Guildford, Surrey Hearth and Waverley recycle between 55% and 60% of their waste.

Local Liberal Democrat environment campaigner Alan Hilliar said "Given the increased awareness of the impact that we have on our environment with the thoughtless disposal of our waste, Rushmoor Council's record is a
disgrace."
